But sometimes I feel like we still don’t always see eye to eye. Since
we all see the world differently, our opinions vary greatly, and this can cause
clashes. I’m sure none of us want that; after all, a family is only as strong
as the people who make it. And I think that a part of this is because, again,
we don’t see things all the same way.
That’s why I wrote this poem. It is an expression of myself and how I
view the world, put into verse and rhythm. It is meant to help you understand
me, and how I see things in this world. But it is also a praise for how much
you have helped shape the ways I see things. If not for you, my view of the
world would be far darker and more troubling. Thanks to you, I see things in a
bright light, and I hope that will always be the case.
Thank you all.
I See Things
I
see the world
Not
for what it is
But
for what it could be
Nothing
is as it seems
Everything
is just a piece
Of
a bigger puzzle
One
that I want
To
piece together
No-one
sees things
Quite
like I do
I
look at you
And
see who you could be
I
look at wood
And
I see steel
I
look at junk
And
I see treasure
I
see some things
That
nobody can
The
things in my mind
Dance
before my eyes
They
live, breath, speak
They
have life of their own
And
sometimes they seem
Oh
so very real
I
see what nobody
Ever
wants to see
I
see the pain of
Those
all around me
It’s
harsh and oppressive
It
fills me with sorrow
And
sometimes I wish
That
I could go blind
I
see things that I
Wish
everyone could see
I
see God at work
In
every little thing
The
edge of each leaf
Glows
with his light
And
that is when I
Am
glad I can see
